Our home-based autism family support packages are suitable for pre-school children and school-aged children.
In some cases, Little Talks Autism Consulting can provide learning and behaviour support in your child’s nursery or school. This requires permission from the nursery or school.
Home Sessions
A member of the Little Talks team will typically visit your home once per week. Each visit usually lasts for 2 hours.
When services first begin, one of our autism support specialists will start by assessing your child to determine the skills they need help with. They will ask about your family life and what is important to you. You will also be asked about your child’s unique personality and interests.
During each session, a member of our team will work directly with your child. The sessions will be fun and play-based, and typically involve lots of movement. As a parent or carer, you will be invited to observe these sessions and join in.
In our direct work with children, we harness each child’s unique strengths and interests in order to teach them in a way they find motivating. We help each child to engage by ensuring the sessions are paced appropriately and meet the child’s sensory needs.
Depending on your child’s individual targets, some sessions may include siblings or peers, and others may involve community outings.
During the sessions, we will also spend time talking with you about any difficulties you may be facing or concerns you may have about your child’s development or behaviour. We will help you find positive strategies to support your child, and will support you to implement these strategies in your daily life.

Individualised Goals for Children and Families
When selecting individualised goals for children and their families, we tend to focus on the following areas:
Communication / Social development / Family life and routines / Family relationships / Play / Self-help skills / Motor skills / Academic skills / Sensory needs / Emotional regulation / Sleep / Feeding / Pica / Toileting / Challenging behaviours
We take the time to really understand the difficulties your child may be experiencing and put together a highly individualised goal plan to suit their needs.
To help every child thrive and achieve their goals, we make sure their needs are met as an autistic person. We think about things they need such as routine, consistency, and being loved and accepted for who they are.
We use a range of evidence-based practices to support children on the autism spectrum to achieve their goals. Click to read more about our approach.
Collaboration with Other Professionals

We are always open to working together with these professionals. We do this to ensure your child receives effective, coordinated support.
