Support with speech devices is available to autistic children in Tyne and Wear, Teeside, and the Central Belt of Scotland, including Greater Glasgow, Edinburgh and West Lothian.

How does it work?
- Initial free consultation. We start with a consultation to understand your child’s unique needs and existing communication style. We’ll discuss your goals and your budget, and work out how we can best support your family. There is no obligation to continue after this free consultation. If needed, we will arrange to work together with other professionals involved, such as teachers and speech and language therapists.
- In-person informal assessment. Next, we’ll come to your home to meet your child. We’ll be seeing how your child interacts with the speech device, looking at what motivates your child, and finding natural ways to make the device meaningful for your child.
- Device set-up. After that, if you need help setting up the device, we will support you. We'll make sure it’s tailored to your child’s interests, containing everything from their favourite foods to their most-loved phrases from films and TV.
- Hands-on support. We’ll come to your home and guide you on how to use the device with your child, making sure you’re comfortable with the technology and how to use it in your day-to-day life.
- Remote support. Our team is here for you after the initial sessions. We'll check in on progress, troubleshoot challenges, and adjust strategies as needed. Remote calls help us review how things are going and set new goals as your child grows in confidence.
