Our Skills for Life package offers personalised autism support for families at home. Through regular home visits, we work with you to help your child develop their communication abilities, emotional regulation toolbox, independent living skills, and more. We work with you to focus on the things which are most important to your family.
This service is available to families in North-East England, Edinburgh, West Lothian, and Glasgow.

Who is it for?
If any of the following apply to you, then this service could be of help:
-
- You are based in NE England or the Central Belt of Scotland.
- You would like consistent guidance from someone who takes the time to connect with your child and understand your family.
- Your child needs help with a range of skills, such as communication, toilet training, feeding, play, socialising, self-care, academics and emotional regulation.
- You're looking for regular support at home from an experienced professional who brings calm, clarity and practical strategies.
- You want strategies that fit into everyday life, not a one-size-fits-all programme.
- You'd like support staying calm and confident when challenges arise.
- You want your child to reach their fullest potential while being celebrated for who they are.
How can we help?
By visiting your home and working directly with you and your child on a regular basis, we can help with the following:
-
- Developing communication skills (speech, signs, PECS, speech devices).
- Building independent living skills (e.g. toileting, dressing, brushing teeth, and self-feeding).
- Bringing more ease into your everyday family life and routines.
- Making sense of behaviours that feel tough and finding ways to reduce stress for everyone.
- Encouraging play and social interaction without imposing neurotypical norms.
- Helping the whole family feel more connected.
- Working with your child's teachers to support their academic development.
- Supporting you through big transitions (e.g. nursery, school, moving house).
How does it work?
We will begin with a free initial consultation to understand your child, your family and your goals. We will discuss your availability and budget before agreeing on a personalised plan for you and your family.
There is no obligation to continue after this call. If you choose to move forward, we typically recommend a series of weekly or fortnightly visits.
During our home visits, we will:
-
- Get to know your child, discuss your family priorities, and carry out assessments to make a personalised goal plan.
- Work in a fun and play-based way with your child, honouring their unique interests and communication style.
- Support your child's emotional and sensory regulation needs, embedding movement, breaks, or quiet time as needed: there’s no pressure to perform!
- Set aside time to talk through what's been happening at home since the last visit.
- Give you the chance to watch and join in so you feel confident in supporting your child to learn and thrive.
- Agree on a few, practical, achievable strategies to focus on between sessions.
Every 6-12 months, we step back, celebrate your child’s progress, and refresh the goal plan.
We always aim to stay focused on what’s most meaningful for your family.
